World Cancer Research Day is held at the end of September. This is a crucial date for CNIO, as it gives us the opportunity to tell the public about what we do and to emphasise the message that cancer treatment starts with research: it is only through the knowledge produced at centres such as CNIO that we can make progress towards finding a cure for cancer. Every year we organise an event open to the public featuring leading experts in their fields.
