Our laboratories are chock full of love for science. To share this enthusiasm, every year, a group of scientists from CNIO takes part in ‘Madrid is Science’, a science outreach and information fair organised by Madrid’s Regional Government.
At the CNIO stand, visitors can look at tumour cells and tissues under the microscope, use a pipette and ask any questions they have: how hypotheses and experiments are formulated, how genes are read, what tests there are to detect cancer, how new and better treatments are found… Plus, of course, how to pursue a scientific career and what a life in science looks like.
