Great progress has been made in strategies to prevent, detect and cure cancer, but the disease remains one of the leading causes of illness and death. There is only one way to change this: research.
The European Researchers’ Night is the perfect opportunity to understand why cancer research is so important, and how it is carried out. This initiative, established by the European Union and held simultaneously in over 350 cities, takes the form of a true celebration of science communication at the CNIO.
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of over a hundred researchers at the CNIO, the centre welcomed some 450 visitors of all ages this year, who carried out experiments, looked through microscopes, played with genetic code and, above all, asked questions, discovered new things and simply had a great time.
Thank you for coming, and see you at the next Researchers’ Night!
