CNIO Biobank is a cross-functional technological platform dedicated to facilitating access to high-quality human biological samples and their associated data for cancer and related disease research. Its primary mission is to support both CNIO researchers and the broader scientific community by ensuring that sample acquisition and usage adhere strictly to legal and ethical standards, safeguarding donors’ rights throughout the process.
As a comprehensive service platform, CNIO Biobank offers a wide array of resources that span all phases of research project management involving human samples. These include sample collection, processing, quality assurance, ethical and legal guidance, strategic acquisition and design of research collections, and stakeholder engagement to identify suitable samples or assist in securing ethical approvals.
CNIO Biobank is officially authorised by the Health Department of the Autonomous Community of Madrid and is registered with the National Biobank Registry of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (Ref: B.848).
