The excellence and scientific competitiveness of the CNIO is also recognised by research entities beyond our borders. As result of that numerous projects were funded by international public institutions and organizations such as the National Institute of Health (National Institute of Health, NIH) or the Department of Defense (DoD) of the United States through competitive open calls.
The funding received from foundations and associations promoted by patients and health professionals should also be highlighted. Entities such as the Worldwide Cancer Research (WCR), the l Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), the Paradifference Foundation or the Melanoma Research Allianca (MRA) have invested the funds of their donors in some CNIO’s research lines.
