“Science is critical to the future of society. And, therefore, supporting and promoting scientific talent and innovation in clinical research is the safest way to protect and improve health”. With these words Maria A. Blasco, CNIO Director, states her motivation for joining the Board of Trustees of the AstraZeneca Foundation.
This governing body of the AstraZeneca Foundation is composed of eight other scientists, including Mariano Barbacid, head of the Experimental Oncology Group at the CNIO. All of them “share the same vision and commitment to contribute to the excellence of the National Health System,” says the AstraZeneca Foundation.
According to the Foundation, its mission is to promote science, research and scientific talent through public-private collaboration. To achieve this, it focuses on science and research, and humanized digitalization in the field of healthcare.
