'Madrid es Ciencia' will be held from March 27 to 29 at IFEMA, as part of the Education Week, the biggest event for the educational world in Spain.

We will explain how we do research at the CNIO to learn how to prevent, diagnose and cure cancer. Ask us about scientific careers, what to study to become a researcher and about career opportunities!

At the Spanish National Cancer Research Center, the CNIO, we do research to learn how to reduce the risk of cancer; detect it as early as possible; and treat it effectively. We know that it is not easy, and that we will come forward little by little. But we are convinced that our work, research, is the starting point for curing cancer.

We shall talk about all this at the ‘Madrid es Ciencia’ fair, from March 27 to 29 at IFEMA. Come over and meet the group of researchers who can explain best how cancer research is done! During these three days we all learn: those who ask questions learn about cancer, about DNA, about life in research; those who answer learn to communicate science and to spread curiosity.

The motto of the CNIO stand is “We do research to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer”. We will explain why what happens in DNA is fundamental to cancer, we will exhibit tumor cells under the microscope; we will analyze images obtained with advanced techniques that show what happens inside cells.

We will also answer all the doubts about scientific careers, studies related to biological sciences and possible professional opportunities.

The CNIO stand will be located at 1E02 in Hall 1. It will be open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Thursday 27 March, and from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on 28 and 29 March.
