The Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) receives the AECC Foundation Centers Accreditation, a recognition that “values both scientific excellence and institutional management quality", explains the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
The AECC Scientific Foundation recognizes the fundamental role played by research centers in the success of scientific projects. It has supported centers of excellence in cancer research since 2018, and in 2024 it went a step further with the creation of the Foundation Centers Accreditation. This recognition for oncology research centres values both scientific excellence and institutional management quality.
In addition to the CNIO, 12 other centers receive the accreditation, which grants them access to exclusive calls for proposals and institutional funding, and strengthens their scientific and social impact. “With this initiative, the Foundation reinforces its commitment to excellence and innovation in cancer research, working to achieve 70% overall cancer survival by 2030,” says the AECC.
