Descripción

The Growth Factors, Nutrients and Cancer Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated predoctoral student to join our research team and investigate the role of the brain–immune axis in liver disease and cancer.
The project will focus on deciphering the molecular and cellular mechanisms through which neuro-immune interactions regulate liver inflammation, regeneration, and tumor development.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment, employing state-of-the-art approaches including genetically engineered mouse models, immunology, molecular biology, single-cell technologies, and translational studies involving human samples.

Criterios de evaluación

– Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medicine, Biotechnology, or a related discipline).
– Previous research experience in biomedical sciences is desirable.
– Special preference will be given to candidates with a strong interest or experience in mouse genetics with experience in cancer research, immunology, neuroscience, or metabolism.
– The candidate must have previous experience on:
• Biochemistry, cellular biology, and molecular biology.
• Immunology and flow cytometry.
• Mouse genetics and animal experimentation.
• Protein expression and purification.
• Cell culture techniques.
• Computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Image analysis and graphical software, including ImageJ, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Bioinformatics and cancer databases, particularly Oncomine.
• Statistical analysis, including Student’s t-test, log-rank test, and Chi-squared test.
– Additional qualifications include:
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong motivation to pursue a scientific career in biomedical research.
– The candidate must be fluent in English with excellent communication and writing skills. Only English application and CV will be considered and female scientists are strongly encouraged to apply.
