Descripción

The aim of the Structural Biology Programme at the Spanish National Cancer Centre (CNIO) is to determine the structures of proteins and macromolecular complexes relevant in cancer, understand molecular mechanisms, and ultimately generate knowledge that contributes to drug discovery.
The Structural Biology Programme currently consists of 5 Groups and 5 core Units built around the technologies in the Programme. The Structural Biology Programme works on several aspects of the DNA Damage Response, Genome Integrity and Kinases in cancer, among other topics. A strong focus has been recently placed on cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM), with the acquisition and implementation of new equipment. CryoEM is the core structural method for 2 of the groups at the Programme. In addition, CNIO provides an exceptional scientific environment in cancer molecular biology and clinical research, as well as a very active drug discovery Programme.
The CNIO is strongly committed to promoting practices that support equity, diversity and inclusion within our internal practices and in our research, embody these values in all our CNIO activities and to support and promote these values in the research community.
The Spanish National Cancer Centre (CNIO) is committed to expand its research in the Structural Biology of fundamental biological processes relevant in cancer. We are looking for a Junior Group Leader in any area of Structural Biology related with cancer research, with a preference for candidates using cryo-electron microscopy as their core method.
