María Blasco, Honorary Award by the Cátedra Real Madrid

María Blasco, Director of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), received yesterday -by the hands of Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa- an Honorary Award from the Cátedra Real Madrid in recognition for her outstanding scientific career. The event took place during the presentation ceremony of the Cátedra Real Madrid Research Grants by the University School Real Madrid, in collaboration with the Universidad Europea.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Real Madrid C.F., Florentino Pérez, the rector of the Universidad Europea, Águeda Benito, and the president of the Universidad Europea, Miguel Carmelo.

The Cátedra Real Madrid Research Grants, now in its fifth edition, are aimed at supporting and fostering scientific research as well as generating new knowledge that could be useful in the overall management of leisure, health and sports.
